BCU - Intermediate Coaching of the Mind (professional Development).

This is a module for UKCC level 2 & 3 coaches, parents and paddlers. This course focuses on how, when and where we use psychology to improve performance in paddle sport.

Through interaction, participation, discussion and demonstration the course covers the topics of; motivational factors, motivational climate and attributes, attention focus, imagery, arousal, individual analysis, self talk and routines. The course will therefore recap and extend the coaching of the mind undertaken on the foundation module whilst extending your ability to apply these theories into specific routines, use performance profiling and goal setting.

  • Requirement: Foundation Coaching of the Mind (3 Hour module), or previous experience of basic sports psychology including mental skills training, concentration, imagery and arousal.
